Resources for Educators
4E is partnership of California Economic and Workforce Development programs and community colleges, universities and high schools. The focus is on renewable solar, wind, geothermal and bioenergy courses and curriculums.
This site is primarily for educators – providing them with essential curricula, contacts, links and resource materials.
Phillips Design was initially contracted with the identity and assorted collateral materials. The client wanted a vibrant and exciting, easily recognized image and a color scheme to match. Slightly “twisted” primaries, with a warm supporting gray, do the job. Large solids and multiple color combinations add up for a bold, dynamic look.

The newsletter is tabloid size; When open, it folds out to a whopping 22″ x 17″. Unusual illustrations and hand-drawn pull quotes add interest.
Other projects included exhibit materials and website.
A new website was recently completed with a responsive WordPress template that features a large, full screen menu and password-protected, scrolling data tables. A primary requirement for the website was ease of use and a simple and clear navigation system for complicated content targeted to specific education related markets.
The website makes extensive use of Google maps for training and partner locations. These map locations can be edited by multiple people through their Google account, and besides addresses, phone numbers and links to other websites, can feature photos and even videos! Very efficient, makes complex map updating easy.
