Hey, It’s Not a Job, It’s a Career Doing What You Love
ATRE is a statewide Economic and Workforce Development initiative of the California Community Colleges. It acts as a liaison between transportation and energy businesses and the community college system; It creates curriculum and training, taught through California’s Community Colleges, to meet the needs of new, emerging technology businesses in the transportation and energy industries.

- Businesses who want trained employees in a particular field – can get ATRE to create the curriculum and coordinate delivery of the actual classroom training.
- Employees who want retraining – can get the ATRE-created training and classes from a California Community College.
- Students who want a career in these industries – can get the ATRE-created training program from a California Community College.
- Faculty who want to teach classes in this subject – can get the curriculum and attend “trainer’s” training from ATRE.
- And last – but not least – are state Legislators, who fund the program. They need evidence on the ROI, so that they will continue to fund the initiative. Annual reports and informational material go to them as well.
