For Christmas I got a great book: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
I’ve been wanting to read it but just hadn’t gotten around to getting it, so it was the perfect gift. So perfect in fact, that I finished reading it by the next evening.
It’s got everything; great characters, violence, Nazis, torture, sex, financial intrigue, computer hacking, etc. It takes place in Sweden. I can hardly wait to see the movie.
It’s only got one problem – It takes place in Sweden.
Or put another way: “It tekes plece-a in Svedee.”
While I was reading it I kept thinking, “Wait! These guys are-a Sveedes. You-a know, dey tok in Sveedeish Chef accent!” Yah, it demn neer drufe me craazy.
For example:
Armageddon was yesterday, today we have a serious problem.
Becomes:
Ermegeddun ves yesterdey, tudey ve-a hefe-a a sereeuoos prublem. Bork, bork, bork!
Wonder how they’ll handle that in the movie?
